Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Finance Department of a leading European dairy processor for a Commercial Accountant. Based in Kilkenny and reporting to the Senior Commercial Accountant, with strong links to the Commercial and Innovation functions, this role will support decision-making in planning for future expansion and growth in the context of the abolition of EU milk quotas in April 2015. Key Responsibilities: Provide financial support to the Commercial and Innovation teams. Monitor product gross margins / contributions with a view to optimising production / sales mix. Report weekly / monthly commercial performance metrics. Monitor stock and debtor positions versus targets. Participate in the monthly profit forecasting process as a key driver of business performance. Assess ongoing commercial and innovation opportunities Develop customer / product profitability reporting. Challenge the business on an on-going basis, highlighting value potential / efficiencies.

Skills Requirements

Qualified Accountant with 2+ years post qualification experience. Cost Accounting Exposure. Previous experience in a large manufacturing / sales environment. Strong commercial awareness, combined with a disciplined, professional work approach. Challenging, inquisitive & performance-driven approach / looking for career progression. Strong communicator with good interpersonal and presentation skills.
