POSITION: Accounts Officer – Temp/part-time contract
OFFICE BASE: Temple Bar, Dublin 2
REPORT TO: Business Services Manager
OVERALL PURPOSE & LEVEL
This role is in the Business Services Unit, reporting to the Business Services Manager.
The main objective of the BSU is to ensure The Wheel has the systems, structures, processes, procedures and resources to deliver all of it’s strategic objectives.
The Accounts Officer will be responsible for financial and administrative services in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
The post holder will develop and maintain positive professional relationships particularly with colleagues, community and voluntary organisations and the range of people and organisations with whom s/he is in contact via email, phone, in person etc.
S/he will work in a respectful, co-ordinated and integrated way with colleagues, and in such a way as to encourage the best from, and support the efforts of, others.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
To carry out financial data entry and reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and completeness at all times
All aspects of daily purchase and receipt postings on Xero [the organisations accounting software], and associated administration
To process and make payments by EFT once authorisation has been made
Processing of supplier invoices and acting as a point of contact for supplier queries
Processing of staff expenses
Reconciliation of the bank accounts
To assist with the month end process
To assist with the annual audit process
To assist in the compilation of grant and other financial reports
Assisting with the management of the nominal ledger and related reconciliations
Co-ordination of monthly staff payroll, calculation of which is outsourced
Working with the Business Services Unit team to support the delivery of organisational goals
Any other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time in connection with this position

Knowledge/Experience
This role will suit an experienced accounts officer or executive who has a history of taking ownership of their role in the monthly accounting process and understands the importance of consistently completing their work accurately and on time.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience as an accounts executive / officer using recognized accounting software packages and excel in the course of your work
Accounts experience in the NGO / charity sector an advantage but not essential
Salesforce experience an advantage but not essential
An accounting qualification (or part thereof) desirable, however candidates with many years strong relevant experience will also be considered.

CONTRACT PERIOD
Initially 3 months, could extend to 4 months.
HOURS
20 hours per week, ideally Monday to Thurs
REMUNERATION
FTE €34,632, pro-rata €19,240
