The Role:
The purpose of the above roles will be to support individuals who are moving from a residential care setting to their own homes in the North Dublin, Blanchardstown & Ballyfermot Areas. To support the transition to their own homes one service will require greater levels of resource at the start, including a requirement for awake nights with to sleep over nights in time. The other services will have either sleep over nights or awake nights, depending on the location.

The Cheshire Community living service is based on clear principles of supporting people “one person at a time”. As a Cheshire Support worker you will be committed to the provision of quality services and to the concept of working in partnership with individuals who live in their own home. The successful candidate will support the individual with many aspects of everyday living; including physical, emotional and social. Your work is supporting and enabling rather than predominantly personal care. The role will also involve providing advice and guidance as part of a range of support activities once identified with the individual.

Please note that for one of the services, the lady is a heavy smoker but provisions are being made to facilitate this outside of her house so as not to affect working conditions for staff.

The Person:
You will be committed to the principles of rights based, person-centred services. You will be flexible, reliable, and prepared to work nights, evenings, weekends and public holidays. Experience of working with persons with mental health challenges desirable.The ideal candidate will be empathic, supportive and encouraging. The ideal candidate will also be open minded, non judgemental and have a patient and positive approach. Successful candidates will possess a minimum of 1 years’ experience in the provision of care, a FETAC level 5 care related qualification or equivalent. A full driving licence and access to own vehicle is desirable.

Salary range: Dependent on Experience
