SMART Recovery Ireland (SRI) is a company limited by guarantee with a mission to help individuals seeking abstinence from addictive behaviours achieve recovery and lead independent lives. SRI operates under license from SMART International to conduct the business of SMART Recovery International in the Republic of Ireland.
SMART Recovery promotes choice in recovery through a national network of local mutual-aid meetings, online resources and training programmes with comprehensive teaching materials and manuals.
SR teaches rational, easy to learn and self-empowering skills to help participants abstain from any addictive behaviour and to develop a lifestyle that supports sustained recovery. SR is abstinence orientated but supports a harm reduction approach underpinned by the evidence-based methodologies of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.
