Financial Controller – Crann Support Group – Trim, Co Meath

Reporting to the CEO of the Crann Support Group you will be responsible for the Financial Control of 17 Community and Voluntary Organisations.

The Crann Support Group is an innovative model of management, born out of the need for community groups to be sustainable.The Crann Support Group is a non-profit making organization and is established for the purpose of rendering to its members and non-members the ancillary services directly necessary to enable them to carry out their activities.Membership of the Crann Support Group offers Community and Voluntary Organisations the opportunity to avail of knowledge, skills and expertise.Ancillary services provided by the Crann Support Group include; Management Consultancy for Community Enterprise, Human Resource Consultancy, Preparation of Accounts to Audit Stage, Training, Catering, Maintenance, Caretakingand Cleaning.The Crann Support Group Ltd. have direct responsibility for 247 staff across 14 Community/Voluntary Oganisations in Co. Meath.

Summary of Main Responsibilities:

Prepare year end accounts to audit stage.
Conduct weekly/fornightly/monthly payroll for 350 staff.
Implement, develop and monitor budgets for the member organisations.
Conduct financial analyses quarterly and on an ad hoc basis. Identify new and future performance reporting or metrics.
Identify and analyse risks and opportunities and communicate to the CEO in a timely manner.
Help guide significant adjustments to affect savings and profit opportunities.
Evaluate the compliance of financial systems, policies and processes in conjunction with accounting principles and the Company’s Financial Procedure.
Manage the staff within the finance team.
Grant/funding applications.
Prepare departmental returns.

Experience/Education:

Finance certification (CPA, CMA, ACCA, ATI or equivalent)
Minimum 5 years of applicable finance and accounting experience
Experience of working in the Community / Voluntary Sector an advantage
Demonstrated record of financial analysis essential
