Financial Controller (Part-time) – North and East Housing Association – Dublin

Job title: Financial Controller/Part-time (3 days per week)
Location: Head Office, 3 Kirkfield Cottages, Clonsilla Road, Dublin 15.
Salary: Commencing at €65,000 pro rata
Interview: Late Aug/Early Sept.

North and East Housing Association  is an Approved  Housing Body that  provides  and  manages  some  400  homes  in the  North  and  East  Regions  of Ireland.  NEHA is committed to the provision of quality homes and the supporting of communities.

NEHA is presently completing a 5 year strategic plan and we will play our part in the delivery of the Social Housing Strategy 2020 launched by government in the autumn of 2014. The Social Housing Strategy envisages a significant role for approved housing bodies in the provision of social housing in the coming years in a very changed environment where private financing of social housing will become the norm for AHB’s in an enabling regulatory framework.

Job description

NEHA is now recruiting a  Financial Controller (Part Time) to lead and manage our finance  team  in  the delivery  of  our  finance  function.   In addition we  are seeking a candidate to lead in the delivery of financial systems, processes and risk management procedures that will enable NEHA to deliver on its strategic plan.

The successful candidate will be a member of the senior management team, have clear communication and team work skills and demonstrate an ability to positively represent NEHA with external stakeholders.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience and will have worked in an operational Finance Manager/Director or similar role with experience of undertaking the full range of tasks associated with a medium sized finance department. Experience in the Social Housing or charity sector would be an advantage.

Ability to operate and communicate effectively at all levels with both internal and external stakeholders.
Analytical expertise in     understanding   complex issues and their consequences.
Good organisation and time management skills
Excellent IT skills and proven experience of using a range of software packages.
Critical thinking and decision making ability
