Purpose of Role

The Research Funding Procurement Project Manager will work as a member of the Business Development Team. The Research Funding Procurement Project Manager will work with Programme Managers, Senior Project Managers, the Communications Team, the Finance Team and external consultants as and when appropriate to ensure successful completion and delivery of AquaTT’s services.  The Research Funding Procurement Project Manager will manage opportunities, serving either as a lead or team member. This includes managing existing client relationships, leading pre-bid (tenders) preparation, and proposal development. This position will assist in development and refinement of AquaTT’s business development processes, tools, and templates. Additionally, the Research Funding Procurement Project Manager will support marketing material development and serve as a representative of AquaTT through external events and partner meetings.

Essential Responsibilities

Support AquaTT’s efforts to maximise its competitiveness through pre‐bid preparation, partner formation, and presentation of compelling proposals.
Collaborate with others teams in the organisation in development of assigned proposals, defining and managing roles and responsibilities of their contributions within the proposal development process.
Coordinate, manage, and/or write sections of proposals and tenders (national and European), including but not limited to technical, personnel, management, and past performance sections; and serve as a team member supporting any required aspect of proposal development.
Manage production of proposal submissions to ensure quality of on-time delivery of all documents; assure proposal complies with client requirements.
Develop, support and initiate new and existing processes related to the business development portfolio.
Participate in conferences, exhibitions and other events as applicable to increase and maintain AquaTT’s visibility.

Desired Skills and Experience

Three years combined proposal/grant/tender writing and programme management experience in the national and European development and research environment. Evidence of contribution to successful bids is desirable.
Working knowledge of the international research funding environment.
Advanced degree in science, international development, project management or related field is desirable.
Hands-on proposal management experience, including coordination, technical writing and editing, partnership development, recruitment, and budget preparation. Ability to self‐manage, multi‐task and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
Strong oral, written and presentation skills.
Demonstrated analytical, organisational and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills with an ability to build personal rapport with a wide range if stakeholders.
Ability to travel domestically and in Europe up to 20% annually.

Initial 18 month contract. Salary DOE.
