Senior Manager – Finance and IT – Depaul

1. Role
This role is an excellent opportunity to join the finance, and leadership team within Depaul. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Corporate Services, the Senior Manager Finance and IT leads the management of the finance, IT and facilities functions in both ROI and NI. In addition, the role works closely with services, HR and fundraising and participates with representatives of these functions as part of a technical services group which oversees IT infrastructural and service requirements. The role also plays a key role as part of the senior management group and contributes to the strategic direction and the overall management of the organisation. The overall focus of this role is to ensure both good financial governance and value for money.

Management of the finance function is broad in scope, applies across both ROI and NI jurisdictions and includes:

The accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
The payroll and pensions functions, working closely with the HR department
Production of weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc financial budgets, forecasts, reports, statements and accounts for multiple audiences to include board, funders, auditors and various internal teams – as relevant
Liaison with external auditors
The internal audit function
Representing the organisation in correspondence and meetings with third parties including funders, and
Handling of insurance cover and claims.

The IT function includes:
Planning IT infrastructural and service requirements as a member of the technical services group
Selection and purchasing of hardware and software
Production of IT inventory reports
Management of multiple IT vendor relationships, and
Implementation of new IT systems

This role is responsible for managing a team of finance, IT and facilities staff.

2. Skills, Knowledge and Experience

This role requires:
A professional accountancy qualification and ideally a third level degree specialising in finance or accountancy
At least five years working in a finance role of which at least two years have been at finance management level, ideally in a charity setting
Experience overseeing IT infrastructural and service developments including negotiations with third party service suppliers
Experience leading teams, including developing and motivating different levels of staff
Competence using Microsoft and Google and systems, in particular advanced Excel skills and accountancy packages, and
An understanding of Depaul’s Vision, Mission and Values, and the issues facing homeless people
