One Family, founded in 1972 as Cherish, offers support, information and services to people parenting alone, sharing parenting and separating, and their children; to those experiencing an unplanned pregnancy; and to those working with one-parent families.
An exciting new role has arisen in our Communications Service. The purpose of this part-time role is to assist with development, consolidation and focus of the communication and marketing requirements of One Family around new technologies whilst also engaging with traditional communications; and with production of all One Family events, including our annual Family Day Festival.
Working to the Director of Communications, the successful candidate will develop and implement effective promotion of One Family’s vision, brand, strategy, policy concerns and services to diverse audiences, and will have a demonstrable record of communicating effectively across a variety of platforms. S/he should be capable of working across digital and traditional media; including websites built on WordPress, social media platforms, and print materials. Some knowledge and experience of public relations is preferable. A relevant third level qualification or professional training and experience are essential. The successful candidate will ideally have experience of the issues affecting diverse families and those experiencing poverty; knowledge of the political system in Ireland; and some experience in the community/voluntary sector.
