Prison Based Counselling Service

Immediate Fixed Term Contract

Merchants Quay Ireland is looking to recruit 2 part-time Addiction Counsellors, one work in Castlerea prison and one to work in Cork Prison. The successful candidates will work 2-3 days per week (19.5 hours). The contract is a fixed term agreement on a 12 months basis, with a view to extension depending on business requirements. Posts will be subject to a 6 month probationary period.

In order to be eligible to apply for this position candidates must have:

At least one years’ full time experience in a counselling post with training in drugs/alcohol/homelessness/social care.
A relevant qualification in the area of counselling
Full accreditation with ACI or equivalent body
The ability to deliver group work, care co-ordination and provide one-to-one support.
Adjustable and dynamic experience with familiarity delivering counselling contracts an advantage

Both positions are subject to Security Clearance
