Young Social Innovators (YSI) is a dynamic not for profit organisation. An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate within our Communications team. You will be joining a small organisation with a large reach to young people and educators in Ireland. Thousands of young people take on the YSI Challenge each year to tackle a social issue that they feel passionately about and the organisation provides a busy programme of provincial and national events.
Young Social Innovators is now offering an exciting position for an experienced, passionate PR and Marketing Officer to work as a member of our Communications Team in the support of our work. He/she will have a track record in PR and Marketing with a minimum of 3 year’s experience and will report directly to the Communications Manager.
The Role:
Key Areas of Responsibility:
To help increase the reach of Young Social Innovators and communicate the impact of the organisation
To oversee YSI’s brand management function
To oversee and develop YSI media partnerships
To supervise YSI PR function, managing external contractor as well as in-house PR activities
To provide support to YSI Fundraising Team
To update and create engaging digital media content for company website and online platforms
To input into YSI’s Social Media Strategy and Planning
To engage and manage suppliers in areas such as photography, videography, graphic design etc
To create and disseminate information on YSI’s range of activities and events
To co-ordinate and prepare various communications for key stakeholders
To manage day to day communications, administration and archiving tasks

The Candidate
Qualifications
A third level qualification in Marketing or Public Relations discipline is essential.
Experience
A minimum of three years’ experience in the field of marketing and public relations is required.
Knowledge / Skills essential
Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office, website maintenance, database maintenance are essential.
Excellent communication skills – with a particular strength in written communications
Strong knowledge of Ireland’s Press and Media environment and preferably contacts within this sector.
Experience creating digital media content using programmes such as photoshop, illustrator, in-design, and video/audio editing software is advantageous.
Knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and tools
Organisation and project management skills
Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to self-motivate, think strategically and identify opportunities
High level of professionalism, strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
Understanding of youth population and how to meet the communication challenges and needs of this target group
A full clean driving license and access to a car is desirable.
This role is a Dublin based role with some travel.
Salary: commensurate with experience.
