Job Function:
To provide unemployed clients with a confidential, individual career path planning and guidance service on a caseload basis to identify and co-ordinate progression paths which will lead to the client successfully securing employment in their Pathway to Work.
Manage and operate a caseload management system under contract to the DEASP.
Work as an integrated member of the County Kildare LES team.
Key Tasks
To develop & plan individual career path progression routes for those unemployed clients which, having assessed the client’s employability status, indicate concrete actions which need to be taken to secure employment – taking cognizance of the clients starting point.
To co-ordinate and manage the realization of the progression route ensuring that the LES and relevant agencies provide the necessary progression steps for each client. Where there are gaps, to relay the information to the Chief Operations Officer.
To provide clients with the appropriate support, advice and guidance relating to employment, training and career options.
To effectively manage a computerized client caseload system to ensure that the appropriate tracking mechanisms are in place and stats are supplied to Head Office as required.
To play an advocacy role with respect to job vacancies, work experience opportunities and training/education opportunities on behalf of clients.
To work towards reaching set objectives/targets.
To provide an after-care service to clients, where required.
In co-operation with the service delivery team and the LES Management team, to assist in identifying issues that arise in the course of adult guidance with a view to establishing alternative progression routes into employment.
To report on a regular and ongoing basis to the Co-Ordinator/Chief Ops Officer and/or Team Lead, to report Stats as required daily/weekly/monthly and carry out such tasks and duties as may be assigned by the Co-Ordinator within the development of the overall LESN Contract to DSP.
To ensure the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality are maintained in the mediator-client relationship.
To ensure client expectations are grounded in reality and confront unrealistic expectations when raised.
To help build a client base of local employers who may provide work at the level appropriate to our clients aspirations, experience and educational background in order to fill vacancies and work to influence employers to adopt a positive attitude to LES clients as potential employees.
The Mediator will provide clients with a confidential, individual career path planning, guidance and first-line counselling service.
Manage and operate the caseload management system as designated by Funder within annually agreed targets.

Employment Details:
Fixed term contract, (Naas – to 10th October 2020) (Athy to 31st December 2020), subject to funding, covering a Leave of Absence.
Salary in accordance with LESN Salary Scale beginning Grade 1 €28,438 (Pro Rata)/(€34339 inclusive of PRSI/Pension etc.).
Working hours – 28 hours per week.
Role may be shared between 2 suitably qualified applicants should this be preferred (both covering 2 different locations).
