Overview of the Post:
The purpose of the role is to provide support services to adults with physical disabilities in a community home setting.
The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to the empowerment of people with disabilities working part of a team through a person centered approach the Support Worker will work with service users in accessing social and recreational activities in the community and assisting with all aspects of daily living in their residential service. The Support worker will be supervised by and work closely with the lead nurse and PIC.
In order to provide a flexible service, the Support Worker will be required to drive Enable Ireland vehicles, do sleepovers and work during evenings and weekends

The successful candidate will have
Essential Criteria:
QQI Level 5 in Care skills to include a module on special needs(total 8 modules) or Equivalent Qualification
Full clean driver’s licence and willingness to drive service transport.
1 years’ experience working with adults with disabilities
Good IT skills
Desirable Criteria:
Experience of working with adults in a day service setting.
Experience of working in community setting.
Knowledge of person centered planning and Key Worker system
Knowledge of New Directions guidelines
