Role of Assistant Coordinator
The Assistant Coordinator will be part of a small dedicated team in managing a Local Training Initiative to meet the education/training needs of 14 male and female service users. The successful candidate will support the Coordinator and tutors in the delivery of a range of QQI modules to attain General Learning Certification, along with a range of lifestyle related modules.
The Coordinator’s Role will involve:
Recruitment of learners to the LTI.
Support the Coordinator in the management of LTI staff/tutors.
Delivery of LTI modules to afford each learner the opportunity to achieve QQI General Learning Certification.
Delivery to learners or organise delivery of lifestyle related initiatives i.e. Sober Fun, Alcohol and Drug Awareness, Independent Living, Anger Management, Understanding Harmful Behaviour etc.
To liaise with relevant agencies to support learners’ engagement.
Development and review of each participant’s Individual Learning Plans.
Monitor, record and report through all relevant WWETB and Treo procedures within agreed timeframes.
Attend regular progress meetings with WWETB and Treo personnel.
Follow relevant Treo organisational procedures.
Be responsible for the maintenance & upkeep of the LTI premises and assets.
To ensure, as much as possible, the health and safety of all involved in the initiative
To liaise with employers when required to source work experience/employment opportunities
Liaise with education and training providers when required to ensure suitable access to progression opportunities
Hours per week: 35 hours
Days per week: Monday to Friday
Duration: Immediate start. Employment contracts are based on each LTI cycle and subject to WWETB funding.
Salary: €572.73 per week
Location: 1st Floor, 10 Westgate Business Park, Dungarvan, Co. Waterford
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Ideally, candidates will possess or have experience of;
Working within an LTI
Train the Trainer qualification
Experience in teaching, training delivery, youth or community work.
Ability and patience to provide training in a positive, solution focused environment
Excellent command of the English language with proficiency at recording and report writing
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage a varied workload while providing supportive, empowering leadership.
A minimum QQI level 7 qualification in a relevant field
A full driving license with use of own car
It would also benefit candidates to possess an understanding of
Solas’ Training Standards System (TSS)
