Job Description Instructor
Reports directly to: General Manager
Duties
Develop, deliver and review training modules/programmes
Prepare and maintain training and certification records
Work with management to ensure that appropriate certification is available and programme standards are maintained.
Assist in developing links with employers and other organisations to promote progression to employment and/or further training and education opportunities.
Work with Management and other staff members to provide appropriate trainee recruitment, assessment and monitoring procedures including tracking.
Use the time that you are not directly engaged in training to carry out related work, which may include administration and/or other managerial duties where appropriate.
Provide the flexibility needed to integrate services for new and emerging client groups.
Work with management to respond to new national policy initiatives and services
Work with management to implement a Quality Assurance Framework, and identify key performance indicators.
Be available to provide lunchtime supervision and cover for sick and absent colleagues.
Maintain a clean and tidy work area.
Fully participate in the planning and evaluation process
Draft reports for management that may be determined from time to time
Participate in staff training and development initiatives
Carry out other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Applicants must possess:
A Diploma in Education & Training QQI level 7 or similar
A recognised Catering qualification at minimum QQI level 6
A minimum 3 years’ work experience in Catering
A Train the Trainer qualification QQI level 6 (desirable)
Awareness of QQI awards and National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) system for application in Community Training Centres (CTC’s) or similar FET organisations
Significant experience of working with young people using a learner centred approach
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A working knowledge of state agencies who work with early school leavers
Ability to integrate IT based learning, literacy development and other pedagogical skills and approaches
Duties will include:
The training, assessment and monitoring of learner course work in relevant skills areas such as Short Order Cooking, Kitchen Skills, Customer Service, Work Experience all to QQI level 4 standards and Meal service to QQI level 5 Standard
Direct supervision of learners
Assisting with the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of CTC services within a Quality Assurance Framework and other duties as appropriate
Responsibility for HACCP in the training environment
The salary scale for the position is from €31,362 to 56,473 per annum which includes two LSIs. All new entrants are subject to stating point as per the Operating Standards. All appointments are subject to Garda vetting and receipt of satisfactory references. Canvassing will disqualify. Interviews will be held week beginning January 9th 2023
