We do this through providing access to education, childcare, community development programmes, housing and other supports.

Respond! Housing Association is pleased to invite applications for the following position:

Part-time Childcare Assistant located at Stepping Stones, Drogheda.

The role of the Childcare Assistant is to assist in the planning, running and implementation of the day to day activities provided by this Respond! Childcare Service.

Duties include:
Ensure that the welfare of the children attending the service is paramount.
To carefully supervise and keep close contact with all children.
To make sure that the childcare service is clean, tidy and safe. Ensuring at the start of each session that that area has been cleaned and this has been recorded.
To provide planned, structured and age appropriate activities for all children.
To encourage independence within all children.
To foster the growth of self-esteem within all children.
Where appropriate, to assist in providing healthy snacks which meet the growing needs of children and reflects variation in culture or dietary needs.
To liaise with parents, public health services and local community.
Promote and encourage effective parental involvement.
Promote the services in the local community and target users from the most marginalised sections of the community.
Organise and participate in any fundraising initiatives.
Any other relevant duties as may be required from time to time

The successful candidate will have:
FETAC level 6 in Childcare
2 years post Level 6 experience working in a Childcare setting
Ability to demonstrate leadership and organisational skills
Aptitude and empathy with Children
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent report writing and administration skills
Criminal Record Vetting will be required on an ongoing basis
Terms: 20 hours per week – fixed-term contract
