Jacinta’s Smile
together with Vita House Family Centre, are inviting a 15-hour contract for the role of Jacinta’s Smile Co-ordinator. Jacinta’s Smile, operating under the umbrella of Vita House’s mental health services, aims to provide supports to children (ages 7 – 17) and young adults (ages 18 – 25) who have experienced sibling bereavement. The founders have lost three siblings themselves and are acutely aware that very little mental health support is available for children and young adults who experience the death of a sibling. Jacinta’s Smile’s mission is to raise awareness about sibling bereavement and create tailored support services for bereaved children so they can constructively deal with their grief, lessen feelings of isolation, and come away feeling secure and focused on their own future.
The key responsibilities of the Co-ordinator are to:
Self-organise and have the ability to undertake tasks from inception to completion;
Work closely and build relations with other relevant organisations;
Promote and develop the service whilst actively seek funding for projects;
Update websites, social media and build interagency networks;
Support the strategic development of the organisation;
Be empathetic towards people’s needs.
The contract will be primarily based in Roscommon Town and is part-time (15 hours per week), although consideration may be given to individuals wishing to work remotely.
