The ideal candidate should have the following:
A qualification in Community Development/ Youth Work / Social Care or a relevant discipline.
Demonstrate and ability to develop and nurture supportive relationships and an ability to connect with service users in a non-judgmental way.
A good understanding of development work in a community setting.
Experience of applying for and managing funding.
Knowledge and understanding of the issues of poverty and social exclusion and its impact on the local area.
At least 2 years paid experience of working with groups, including children, who experience social exclusion.
Demonstrate a strong teamwork ethic and the ability to work on own initiative
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, good leadership and facilitation skills.
Good computer skills and familiarity with cloud-based software.
Be social media literate.
