Key Duties and Responsibilities
Counselling
Provides a confidential counselling service to foster care families who are referred by the National Advocacy Coordinator.
Implements best practice as defined by relevant affiliation body and regulatory requirements
Works in collaboration with the National Service Manager and National Advocacy Coordinator
Maintain a good and safe working environment
Team
Delivers a high-quality counselling service which offers support and guidance to those involved in foster care
Works in collaboration with the National Service Manager in the setting of relevant targets as identified in IFCA’s Strategic Plan
Contribute proactively and respectively to IFCA’s wider team and contribute to the planning and implementation of the IFCA Strategic Plan.
Attend team meetings as required
Records
Maintain appropriate confidential records in respect of the service
Comply with GDPR
Provide statistics as required for IFCA’s reporting purposes
Develop relevant policies and procedures and information relevant to the counselling service
Prepare an annual service report and other reports as required
Ensure all data is captured on the service CRM system
Policy
Comply with IFCA’s policies and procedures
Identify trends arising from the counselling service to inform strategic direction
Actively participate in effective organisational communication systems
Develop and maintain pro-active and respectful working relationships with external shareholders
Ensure the implementation of the organisations commitment to quality assured policies and services
Promote and enhance the organisations commitment to continuously improve the standards of service and development of initiatives to members and funders, as appropriate
Engage pro-actively in IFCA’s supervision policy
Carry out any other duties as deemed reasonable and appropriate by the National Service Manager.
Competencies:
Skilled and expertise in counselling or psychotherapy
Experience of providing support to clients
Experience of working with multiple key stakeholders
Excellent report writing skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Proficiency in IT systems including CRM systems
Working as part of a team
Experience & Qualifications Essential:
Qualification in counselling or psychotherapy
Desirable:
Experience of working in, or knowledge of the field of foster care
Experience in using data base (CRM) systems
Terms and Conditions
6 counselling sessions provided to 15 individual foster carers or a foster care couple as and when required
FTC to June 2022
Garda Vetting and attendance at Induction training is required
Two satisfactory references of which one should be from the current employer
Salary Scale: €50 per counselling session for 15 clients (individual and or couples) Total €4500
