Digital Communications Officer – Down Syndrome Ireland – Dublin

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and content editor of the charity’s website (WordPress)
Manage development improvements to the charity’s website, keep’abreast and advise of developments in the digital arena; identify new digital opportunitie5
Digital content creator and editor for multiple social media channels, including Meta (Facebook & Instagram), Twitter, Tik Tok, Linkedln and YouTube
Issue the charity’s bi-weekly e-newsletter and offer expertise on email marketing best Practice to maximise the impact of such emails
Create and design videos to promote the work of the charity and help fundraising efforts
Develop a range of promotional materials
Management of analytical tools such as Meta Insights, Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools
Any other duties as designated by the Communications Manager

Person Specification/ Required Skills and Knowledge:
Educated to degree level or equivalent in relevant area
Minimum 1 / 2 years’ relevant experience in a digital marketing/fundraising or communications role
Excellent writing skills; must have digital copywriting and copy-editing experience
Experience using WordPress CMS platform is essential
Content production expertise is required along with using tools like Photoshop, Canva and video/audio editing tools
Expertise in SEO, Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Meta Ad management and other social media channels
Strong networking capabilities, ability to build and maintain key relationships
Proven English copywriting and editing skills
Demonstrate a real passion for social media and digital technology/fundraising trends
Flexibility in work arrangements – the role involves occasional out of hours and weekend work
An understanding and empathy for the mission and work of Down Syndrome Ireland

Details:
Full time permanent position subject to standard probationary period of 6 months
Salary: Competitive salary based on experience
Role to commence November 2022

Down Syndrome Ireland, Unit 3 Park Way House, Western Parkway Business Park, Ballymount Drive, Dublin D12 HP70.
