Role Details: Supporting a young man who lives in Kilcock, Co Kildare and attends St John of Gods Day Services. The ideal candidate will have a good sense of humour, be energetic, enjoy the outdoors (in all weathers!), have an interest in meeting people, animals, farming, and music, and be creative around ways of supporting someone to explore living options and ways of becoming a full and active member in their local community.
Working under the guidance and support of a Line Manager this person will be an excellent communicator with an interest in and a passion for supporting someone to live a self-directed life in their own community. The role involves getting out and about in the community, finding clubs, groups and activities that are interesting to the person, and supporting the person in these activities is an essential part of the position.
Flexible working hours consisting primarily of evenings and weekends are a requirement of this role.
This role is full time and an initial 12 month contract will be offered to the successful candidate along with excellent training and support. Salary is as per the Care Assistant Scale.
The initial place of work will be in the Kilcock area with the possibility of this changing as the person explores living options. Use of computers to write weekly reports is also a requirement.
Written and verbal references along with Garda Vetting are necessary and part of the selection process.
