Family Support Programme Coordinator – CRY (Ireland)

CRY (Ireland) has three main objectives:
To raise awareness of the condition known as Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD) through media campaigns and information meetings;
To provide free counselling and support for families affected by sudden death or cardiac conditions;
To support the Centre for Cardiovascular Risk in Younger Persons (The CRYP Centre).
The majority of funds raised through campaigns go into supporting the Centre located at Tallaght University Hospital.
CRY (Ireland) is prioritising the family support services by relaunching our Family Support Programme which will provide a comprehensive range of bereavement and emotional support to families who have lost a young person through sudden cardiac death. To assist with this strategic priority, we are recruiting a Family Support Programme Coordinator who will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Trustees in developing, overseeing, and implementing the support service.

The position
will be for an initial duration of 12 months, and subject to funding considerations may be extended. This position is subject to Garda Vetting.
The ideal candidate will be positive, enthusiastic and friendly with a proven ability to work as part of a team and build relationships with others, possess a qualification in a social science discipline, will be passionate about engaging with people and have a strong empathy with bereaved families. In addition, the preferred candidate will possess strong emotional intelligence skills, demonstrate passion, initiative, and excellent written and oral communication skills, fluent English, while being comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment. Strong networking and project management skills, adept at using social media platforms. Excellent report writing, communication and IT skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), a problem solver. Experience of working in a social care or healthcare setting while not essential would be desirable.
