The Northstar Family Support Project is a community-based organisation providing non-judgemental, confidential support to families who are affected by, and trying to cope with, a family member’s substance misuse.
The role
of the Family Support Worker is to support and work in close collaboration with Voluntary Management Committee and the Coordinator to implement the organisations aims and objectives as specified in the work plan.
The person will have:
A minimum of 2 years’ experience experience of working with families and children in a community setting.
Knowledge of the issues relating to families effected by a loved one’s substance abuse
Excellent inter-personal skills, sensitivity, and ability to work on own initiative.
One to one Key working/case management skills and experience
Minimum QQI Level 7 qualification in addiction studies; family support or a relevant field.
