General Education and IT Tutor – CLAY – Dublin

Position
CLAY CLG is currently inviting applications for the position of Part-Time General Education and Information Technology Tutor from the middle of May to the end of October 2022 on a fixed term contract.
CLAY CLG is a community-based youth centre, purpose built to provide and facilitate a fully integrated, caring, and innovative youth centre for the young people of lower Crumlin and the surrounding areas. It provides and facilitates a range of services and programmes, which progress life opportunities for targeted young people, supporting them to fully participate in their community.
The post is funded for a select number of hours, particularly over the summer months. This post requires and facilitates flexibility in working the allocated hours over the working week and may include occasional weekend work. The successful applicant will work as part of a new Youth Employability youth work team.
The successful candidate will ideally have the following qualifications and attributes
A third level qualification or working towards a level 8 qualification
IT skills that can be transferred and tutored to young adults and young people in a Youth work setting
A strong education where basic and functional literacy can be part of the session with young people as required

Desirable:
Experience of working with young people
Understanding of professional boundaries
Some awareness of the employment, training and educational opportunities available to young people
Excellent communication and team skills
Proven record of working on own initiative
Creative and innovative thinker
Flexible
