Head of Fundraising (Part-Time) – LGBT Ireland

Purpose of this Post:
LGBT Ireland are in the process of finalising an ambitious five-year strategic plan 2022-2026 and this exciting new Head of Fundraising post will play a central role in supporting the achievement of this strategy. The post holder will lead approaches and negotiations to secure mutually beneficial corporate and philanthropic partnerships to support the delivery of LGBT Ireland’s new plan and to deliver against agreed income targets. They will have responsibility for helping to drive fundraising and business development across LGBT Ireland’s core services and programmes with a view to developing partnerships that will provide significant investment towards achievement of the organisation’s goals.

In summary the post holder is responsible for:
The development and implementation of business sector strategies
Approaching, negotiating, and securing long term, mutually beneficial corporate and philanthropic partnerships in line with LGBT Ireland’s strategic plan and delivering agreed income targets.
Structure of this Post:
This is a three day per week post on a one-year fixed term contract.
The post holder will report directly to the CEO of LGBT Ireland.

The key roles and responsibilities will include to:
Identify prospects, develop outreach plans, initiate discussions and secure and contract long-term, mutually beneficial corporate and philanthropic partnerships to support specific strategic goals and/or strategic programmes.
Develop compelling proposals and presentations, working closely with relevant teams at LGBT Ireland for prospective new partners that align with their core business/CSR objectives. Leading meetings and influencing a range of corporate contacts, including senior decision makers
Research and attend appropriate networking events and conferences to generate New Business leads. Represent LGBT Ireland to external audiences.
Proactively approach corporate prospects in the event of emergencies, (e.g.) Afghan Refugee crisis maximising the support we receive from the business community. As required, be the Business Development focal point for key organisational projects, such as, LGBT Champions Programme to help prospect and secure new corporate income for the programme
Network and build strong, effective working relationships across LGBTI+ sector to aid delivery of LGBT Ireland’s sectoral goals. Liaise with fundraisers at other organisations to coordinate approaches to national and international companies and Philanthropists.
Experience & Skills
Significant experience of corporate fundraising, including a proven track record of winning, negotiating and delivering new business partnerships.
Experience in strategic and tactical planning and budgeting, including contributing to annual strategy development.
Confident networker with the ability to forge strong working relationships.
Strong proposal development, ‘pitching’ and negotiation skills, prospecting, and effective stewardship of prospects.
Knowledge of current trends and innovations in corporate fundraising, including an understanding of the Irish legislative and regulatory environment.
Knowledge of CRM systems, processes, and practical approaches to create a supporter orientated culture.
Detailed understanding of corporate responsibility
Person Specification:

Ability to work as part of a team and to work collaboratively with colleagues.
Prioritises work that will have the greatest impact on agreed aims and anticipates challenges that could impact delivery targets. Responds flexibly to unforeseen events to minimise any negative impacts.
This is a senior management role within the organisation and the salary offered will reflect this seniority and will be commensurate with experience.
The post will be part-time 3 days per week. Term: One Year Contract
