Irish Autism Action endeavors to raise the quality of life of individuals and their families affected by autism through ensuring the highest standards in education, care, support, employment and equality of living opportunities in partnership with families.
As part of our National Outreach Programme, Irish Autism Action are assisting families with recruiting suitably qualified individuals interested in providing home and community-based supports to children with autism.
Position (Part-time & Relief): Home tutors and Support Care Workers
Regions: Dublin, Meath, Louth
Successful candidates will have:
A teaching council number required in some, but not all circumstances.
A recognised qualification in education, autism, social care or other relevant health care discipline.
Previous experience working with children and/or adolescents with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently
Full, clean driver’s license with own transport
References and Garda Clearance will be required
Preferred, but not essential:
Experience with augmenative communication methods (PECs, LAMH, etc)
Experience managing challenging behaviour
Ongoing training and supervision will be provided. Flexible work hours essential.
