IPO Senior Project Assistant – International Organization for Migration – Dublin

Core Functions / Responsibilities:
Assist in the setup and implementation of the “IOM Cultural Mediation Support to the IPO” Project.
Assist in the recruitment of new project staff to be deployed at IPO, in line with IOM policies and donor requirements.
Assist in the planning and development of training materials and provision of the first general IOM induction and training sessions to the new IOM staff hired.
Support in the development of the reporting system for the staff deployed at IPO.
Directly supervise the cultural mediators deployed at IPO. Identify and document good practices and lessons learned;
Support the IBM Senior Project Coordinator in the development of Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs).
Regularly research, follow-up, compile statistics, analyze and present information/data on national developments, reports, legislation and other relevant documentation, highlighting noteworthy issues to the IBM Senior Project Coordinator
Implementing and monitoring the operational, administrative/financial and HR activities related to project, under the guidance of the IBM Senior Project Coordinator.
Manage day-to-day activities, ensure smooth and efficient operations in close coordination with the Senior Project Coordinator, including liaising with donor, local authorities and other stakeholder relevant to the project.
Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, Development, Law and/or International Relations or similar with five years of relevant professional experience; or High School Degree in the above fields with seven years of relevant professional experience.
Experience

Proven experience in a similar setting & capacity.
Excellent knowledge of information technology and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Experience with EU and/or international funding instruments, in financial management and reporting, accounting, budgeting and internal controls.
Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;
Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups;
Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.

SKILLS
In depth knowledge of International Protection instruments and
areas dealt with by the Organization; and,
Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming.
Knowledge of financial rules and regulations.
Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy & confidentiality in performing responsibilities.
Strong interpersonal & intercultural skills with an attention to detail.
Previous work experience in international organizations would be an advantage.

LANGUAGES
Fluency in English is required
Any other IOM official language is an advantage
