Logistics Operative Food Bank – Crosscare

The Role:
Responsibilities:
Collect items from donors in Crosscare vehicles.
Welcome clients and donors upon arrival at Food Bank.
Loading and unloading vehicles.
Organize and sort donations; keep donation areas clean and clear.
Use of Electronic Point of Sales systems to record all products for traceability.
Monitor public areas for cleanliness and order; assist where necessary.
Work with staff and clients as necessary to maintain a safe environment for all.
To ensure the efficient and safe functioning of the service taking into account up-to-date Health & Safety regulations and ensuring sufficient Health & Safety awareness amongst staff & volunteers.
Recording strict control and traceability of donations.
Receive and record foods donated to the food bank.
Bag bulk food items when needed.
Assist with directing, supervising and instruction of community volunteers assigned to work at the food bank.
Carry out deliveries to facilities assisting those in need.
Perform any other appropriate duties as the manager may require ensuring harmonious and efficient operation of the food bank system.

The Holder:
(Qualification/Skills Requirements) Skills/Experience
Full clean drivers license.
The ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and relationship building skills are essential for this post.
The willingness to work as a team – flexibility and a can-do attitude.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to work and interact well with individuals from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds in a culturally diverse environment.
Ability to work independently using good judgment.
Sensitivity and awareness of hunger and food distribution issues.
Strong time-management skills; ability to prioritize projects.
