About the Job:
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Core
Formation of overall organising plan with the National Officers and Board
Supporting and Developing CATU campaigns and actions, in conjunction with local committees and members
Recruitment to the union including door knocking, calls, stalls and 1-1 conversations in conjunction with local committees and members.
Committee Development: helping in the launch of local committees of CATU, helping give advice and support and build the confidence of these committee’s.
New Area Support: supporting areas where CATU members have started organising (pre-committee launch), initial meeting, recruitment and planning
Other
Facilitate training with local committees and the national officer board.
Assist in administration and development of the Union.
Salary: 15 euro per hour living wage, (28,800/14,400 year salary pro-rata)
Hours: 1 Year Contract, 3 days per week, 20hours per week

Skills:
Campaign, Action and Organising skills
Excellent planning skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Good writing and editing skills.
Strong group facilitation skills, including creating warm and accessible spaces for a variety of backgrounds, being able to move groups, and teach key skills and learning objectives.
Experience:
Essential: Evidence of Community work, campaign or union organising and/or other grassroots campaign and action experience.
Desirable: Presenting to groups, facilitating or training work and computer literate.
Interests:
A commitment to the community and tenants equality and justice and building power for working class communities on the Island of Ireland.
Qualifications:
No formal education or qualifications necessary.
