Outreach Worker – Meath Women’s Refuge and Support Services – Co Meath

Key duties
The purpose of the job is to provide a community outreach service supporting women experiencing domestic abuse.
To case manage clients one to one and deliver programmes in a group work setting.
To undertake court accompaniment, assist women with court applications and post court support along with other members of the outreach team
Attend court hearings and give evidence as required.
To provide a community prevention and early intervention service for families in the community experiencing domestic abuse.
To network and create community awareness of referral paths and the issue of Domestic Violence

Qualifications and Experience
A minimum of 3 years relevant experience working in a social care setting or related context with women/ families/children
Third level Qualification at degree level in social care, social science, or related field
Excellent theoretical and practical knowledge and understanding of domestic violence
Excellent knowledge and understanding of the challenges and issues affecting women and children experiencing domestic violence
Understanding and working knowledge of Domestic Violence Act/Children’s First Legislation/Child Care Act
Risk assessment/Safety and Care planning knowledge is essential
Ability to lone work safely

Terms and Conditions
Contract Type: FTC Full time 12 months-permanent after 12 months
Salary: €38,629 (based on a minimum of 3 years’ experience)
Hours of work: 37 hours per week. (Mondays-Fridays)-some evening work will be required for programmes/meetings
Location: Co. Meath (outreach work may take place in a number of locations)
