Main Duties and Responsibilities
Support the development of DEBRA’s policy positions through research, consultation, and analysis.
Prepare accessible and succinct policy position papers, submissions, and reports.
Prepare policy submissions to consultative processes.
Review published literature as required in order to inform policy positions.
Keep abreast of the policy context in which DEBRA Ireland operates and the processes it seeks to influence.
Provide comprehensive and up to date intelligence and analysis of relevant public policy issues to the Head of Advocacy.
Represent DEBRA Ireland in policy umbrella groups and networking forums.
Develop and maintain a network of contacts to inform and increase the impact of our work.
Consult with people affected by EB as appropriate to ensure that DEBRA Ireland’s policy and advocacy work is responsive to their needs.
Carry out other roles or duties as are within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the post, as requested.
Person Specification
A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar policy role.
Degree level qualification and postgraduate qualification in a related field.
Experience and track record of policy analysis and report writing.
Experience of working collaboratively with external stakeholders.
Experience in the development of NGO policy positions.
Good knowledge of the Irish health environment.
Exceptional project management and computer skills, with excellent attention to detail.
Flexibility to occasionally travel and work outside standard hours.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
