Positive Behaviour Support Specialist – The Anne Sullivan Centre – Dublin

Key Responsibilities
To guide and support staff, family members and other appropriate personnel, on communication and behavioural strategies that will enhance the quality of life of the people that the ASC support.
To meet with Residents on a regular basis, assessing their needs, whilst ensuring person centred care.
To work in conjunction with the ASC multi-disciplinary team, providing PBS expertise for Residents.
To advise Team Leaders and Key workers on appropriate interventions for residents.
To part-take and actively contribute to PBS meetings held – PBS Plans are reviewed twice yearly.
To sign off on PBS plans for residents/service users.

Qualifications and Experience
Hold a current and recognised third level qualification in Psychology and at least 2 years’ post qualification experience in the area of PBS.

Additional competencies
A knowledge and understanding of strategies and interventions beneficial to residents/service users with intellectual disabilities and/ or dual sensory impairments.
Hours of Availability (Work)
The position is for consultancy work, which we anticipate would be a half day on site every quarter with occasional interactions if necessary, in the intervening periods.
