The ideal candidate will have:
Third level qualification – minimum Degree at Level 7 on NFQ – in Social Care or related discipline – see job description for details of acceptable related disciplines
One year’s experience working with homeless people / homeless families or other vulnerable groups
Availability to work varying shifts including early, late and waking night shifts
An understanding of the nature of homelessness and the needs of people experiencing homelessness
An ability to work in a service where clients have multiple complex needs
A good understanding of the harm reduction model
A good working knowledge of relevant local services and the welfare benefits system
Good written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
Good conflict resolution skills
A commitment to preventing and managing challenging behaviour
A commitment to working from a trauma-informed perspective
Competent IT Skills
An openness to change
Essentials – Full clean driving license
