Role Purpose:
Complete tasks as defined by the Youth Service Manager/Team Leader which includes engaging young people in a youth work process. Candidates will provide suitable youth work interventions to facilitate personal development, promote pro social behaviour and improve long term prospects for young people.
The Role:
To engage with and build professional trusting relationships with young people, treating them with dignity and respect, and working within the values of Crosscare.
To work effectively as part of a team and being open to reasonable requests from Youth Service Manager/Team Leader in order to ensure effective working relationships
To work within the policies of Crosscare and the standard operating procedures of the project
To perform all the administrative duties relating to the role in order to ensure that the project runs smoothly
To engage young people in a youth work process.
Qualification/Skills Requirements
Educational:
Be in possession of or working towards a relevant 3rd Level qualification in Youth Work or equivalent.
Some experience of working with vulnerable and disadvantaged groups, ideally within a youth work setting.
Personal Skills:
A commitment to social justice and to treating people with dignity and respect
An understanding of the principles of teamwork and the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
A positive, can do attitude is essential in this role
Excellent communication skills, IT and report writing
Flexibility, good time management and a professional manner
