Job Description
To ensure that the main principles of the National Standards of Residential Child Care (dignity, privacy, choice, safety, realising potential and equality and diversity) are reflected within the service provided.
To advise the Centre Manager of any changes in the young people’s needs
Keyworking duties as required.
To support young people in accessing information, in an appropriate format, allowing them to make informed choices.
To be responsible for ensuring that the young people’s care plans and placement plans are implemented through practice.
To support young people and staff to be aware of all aspects of safety
To liaise with the Centre Manager, Social Care Leader and staff on issues relating to the centre
To set and demonstrate good standards of work practice.
To adhere and implement policies and procedures of the company.
To attend training as required and pertinent to the centre
To be accountable for your own actions and personal and professional development
To attend and partake in professional supervision.
To work positively with family members and other professionals
Any other duties as reasonably requested by your Director, Manager or Team Leaders relevant to the key responsibilities of the post.
Requirements:
Level 7 in social care professional practice
Full clean drivers’ licence
The Social Care Worker will provide care, protection, and support to the vulnerable or dependant clients, individually or in groups, in conjunction with the wider multidisciplinary team and other relevant agencies. The primary aim is to provide intervention necessary to address the young person’s issues or the issues that are preventing them from living at home or in relative/foster care. S/he will ensure the welfare of those under his/her care and will act as an advocate as appropriate. The Social Care Worker works as part of a therapeutic multidisciplinary team to provide care to service users. Young people may be referred to a residential setting for several reasons by the Social Work department e.g., family breakdown /separation, history of neglect, sexual / physical abuse, addiction or mental health issues. Residential care aims to provide a therapeutic care placement to service users who most often present with emotional or behavioural difficulties and cannot live with their own families.

The post-holder will perform in a Specific purpose social care worker rostered role, being flexible to cover needs in the roster.
