Ukrainian Support Worker – Monaghan Integrated Development – Dublin

This position
funded under SICAP (Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme) 2018 – 2023, involves working with individuals and family groups who have fled the war in Ukraine. The position is a 12 month fixed term part time contract for 2.5 days per week. The USW will be responsible for establishing contact with the Ukrainian community living in Co Monaghan and supporting them on an individual and collective basis to take action to address issues/concerns, access services and promote integration.

The purpose of the post is to:
Support the formation and development of a Ukrainian Community Group to provide a safe space for the Ukrainian community to identify and articulate their needs on an ongoing basis
Provide English language supports, as well as virtual and face to face outreach services.
Provide interpretation and other supports to engage with services
Organise monthly events for the Ukrainian community and 2 intercultural integration events
Develop a programme of parenting supports
Support individuals to identify and set new goals and life plans.
Support those transitioning from emergency to permanent accommodation
Address transport barriers where possible
Signpost and support Ukrainians to access counselling services & provide funding for trauma counselling on a case by case basis.
Link individuals and groups to resources available through Monaghan Integrated Development Programmes and from other agencies.
The position is based in County Monaghan with Monaghan Integrated Development CLG. Ukrainian and/or Russian language skills desirable. Own car & driving licence essential.
