Youth Officers (Part-Time) – Foróige – AMPLIFY Peace IV Project

Foróige is an independent,
non-profit national voluntary youth organisation engaged in out-of-school youth development and education. The organisation aims to enable young people to involve themselves consciously and actively in their own development and the development of society. Foróige employs over 400 staff and involves thousands of volunteers in the creation and delivery of high quality services to young people through the operation of over 600 Foróige Clubs, the Big Brother Big Sister Programme and over 140 General Youth Services and Special Projects. These community-based and community-supported initiatives are run throughout the country, in rural and urban environments, and generally in partnership with various voluntary and statutory agencies. The organisation is a registered charity and is supported by a combination of statutory, philanthropic and corporate funding. PART TIME (17.5 hours p/w) YOUTH OFFICERS
AMPLIFY is a youth-led initiative, delivered through an experienced cross border youth work partnership involving Foròige, Youth Action NI, NI Youth Forum and Youth Work Ireland. This creative partnership maximises the reach to young people who have fallen on hard times & who experience volatile & chaotic lives & where their vulnerability is heightened. This innovative cross border & cross community programme will have personal, community & societal impacts, especially in making a positive contribution to building a cohesive society. There is one vacancy in the Amplify Louth Project, currently based in Drogheda. The Projects catchment area is County Louth. The Project works in different locations around the county in phases of 6 – 9 months, recruiting new young people to the project at each new phase. Therefore the project base is subject to change. The objective of AMPLIFY is to provide a ‘key’ to unlock self-belief in which young people feel a sense of belonging & active contribution towards personal & societal change. The successful candidate will be offered a fixed term contract of employment and will be based in Louth.

The successful applicant will have the following essential requirements;
Education to National Diploma or Degree standard preferably in Youth / Community Work (note: candidates with exceptional, relevant work experience may also be considered in lieu of degree qualifications)
A minimum of 1 year relevant work experience
Access to car and full driving licence
Ability to engage target group
