The Communications intern will assist with the planning and implementing of all aspects of Solas Projects’ communications and coordinate events. The role will promote Solas Projects’ work in the community.
The person will passionately believe in the mission of Solas Project to equip and build up young people to overcome all limitations imposed on them by social and educational disadvantage through the adventure of discovering their abilities and self-worth.

Job Title: Communications Intern (Jobbridge)
Duration: 9 months
Hours of Work: 40 hrs a week with weekend and evening work sometimes required
Start Date: TBC

Required experience and knowledge:
Experience of working in the Communications function of not-for-profit.
Keen interest in research & trends of not for profit sector

Role Description
Communications – General
Assist with planning and implementing of all aspects of Solas Project communications and further develop Solas Project communications strategies.
Activities include
Maintenance and updating of Solas Projects website and social media pages
Editing and distributing quarterly E-News
Producing promotional material for Solas Projects events and programmes
Coordinating communications with members and other stakeholders
Media and Public Relations
Managing and strengthening Solas Projects relationships with media.
Producing press releases and media materials for Solas Project activities.
Assisting to Implement agreed Communications strategy for Solas Project
Other tasks
Carry out monitoring and ensure effective evaluation of communications activities as part of the overall monitoring and evaluation framework of Solas Project. Contributing to reporting on Solas Projects communications to donors and other stakeholders
Management of the budget for specific communications activities and exploration of other fundraising possibilities for Solas Project
Liaise with website designer, graphic designer, Communications sub-committee and other relevant service providers for Solas Project communications.
As a member of a small team, the Communications Intern will play a full role in the administration, planning and evaluation of Solas Projects work as a whole.
Undertake additional tasks as required.
