McDowell Purcell Solicitors, one of Ireland’s leading law firms with over 130 staff, has an immediate vacancy for a Data Protection Solicitor to join their Data Protection team on a permanent basis to provide services to both public and private sector entities. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with strong ambitions to assist in developing the firms Data Protection practice.
The role will involve:
Advising clients on the implementation of the GDPR including drafting/reviewing data protection and data retention policies, drafting and negotiating data processing agreements, advising in respect of data breaches, cross-border processing and handling data access requests;
Advising Data Protection Officers;
Providing tailored training to clients;
Conducting GDPR Readiness Assessments/Audits.
Skills and experience:
The successful candidate should have the following skills and experience:
A qualified solicitor preferably in the area of data protection or in a compliance role with data protection responsibilities;
Strong business development and networking skills;
Ability to foster trusted relationships with clients;
Strong project management experience;
Strong organisational and time management skills;
Team player with strong communication skills;
A good work ethic with a positive can do attitude and approach to work.
