PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Criteria:
Level 7/8 nationally recognised qualification in childcare/early years education
Minimum of 3 years practical experience of working with children in a childcare setting or relevant experience of supporting childcare services and voluntary management committees in an advisory capacity.
Strong working knowledge of the early years’ sector and government policy, as it relates to childcare, including National Childcare Programmes.
Experience in delivering training preferably childcare related.
An understanding of the regulatory framework Early Years’ services must operate in and quality frameworks which services are now expected to meet.
Ability to work confidentially, on own initiative and as part of a team with flexibility to ongoing change in work practices.
Excellent organisational skills and an ability to undertake work requiring accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal, presentation and facilitation skills.
Excellent IT and administrative abilities, including experience in report writing, use of Microsoft Word, Sharepoint portals, Excel & Access Data.
A full and clean driver’s license and access to a car.
Desirable But Not Essential:
Qualified to deliver training in Always Children First Child Protection Training and/or Equality and Diversity Framework Guidelines.
Experience working in a development and quality support role with early years’ services
Experience taking the lead on and co-ordinate projects as part of an organisations strategic plan.
Experience advising and supporting individuals or groups in the early years’ sector.
Nature of Employment:
Full time contract to the South Dublin County Childcare Committee on a fixed term contract -35 hours (- to 31st December 2020 (All contracts are subject to funding).
The successful candidate will be required to be Garda Vetted.
