Description
Candidate Profile: The candidate must have at least two years post-grad work experience using SolidWorks in engineering, structural, design office or manufacturing environment. Minimum educational requirement is diploma level. Responsibilities: Report directly to the Engineering Manager (one of a team of three). Design of new product and product enhancement using SolidWorks or AutoCAD and create full set of production drawings. Assist engineers and manufacturing team in learning and using SolidWorks 3-D package. Redraw / convert existing designs and drawings to SolidWorks 3-D. Maintain and update technical drawings for all manufactured products in a document management system. Assist the Sales Team in defining specifications for new customer requirements. Contact customers when clarification on specification detail is required. Complete a full Bill of Materials for all products and insert same into Salesnet (company operational customised system).
Skills Requirements
Provide drawings for production for newly designed and existing products and clarify detail when requested by production personnel. Provide drawings for external frame suppliers and sub-contractors and liaise with them. Check weight distribution of products. Do simple stress analysis of beams and sections. Provide technical assistance to Sales/Marketing to assist in the production of brochures, manuals etc.
