Kildare Youth Services is a dynamic voluntary organisation dedicated to working with young people and families in their local communities. Kildare Youth Services is committed to the personal and social development of young people within their communities and to the provision of quality youth services through an integrated multi-disciplinary approach.
The Family Assessment & Intervention Model (FAIM) is a differential response type model developed by Kildare Youth Services and TUSLA in Co. Kildare. This model operated by KYS, aims to ensure that low to medium child welfare concerns are addressed as quickly as possible. Such cases are referred from the Social Work Department into the FAIM Project, which provides children and families with an assessment of need and a brief intervention based on their needs.
Kildare Youth Services are looking for a dynamic and experienced Coordinator to take this new and innovative project forward. The successful candidate will have a recognised third-level qualification in one of the following:
Social Work
Social Care
Youth / Community Work
Early Childhood Care & Education
Education
Or related discipline e.g. Nursing, Psychology, Early Years Education etc.
Your application should clearly demonstrate that you have:
A minimum of 3 years experience of working with children and families in a similar role.
Experience of leading a multi-disciplinary team of professionals, including line management responsibility.
Extensive experience of carrying out formal assessments of the needs of children and families who are at risk using recognised evidence based methods.
A clear understanding and experience of brief intervention work with children and families.
Experience of planning and implementing a range of evidence based interventions in partnership with children and families to address their needs.
Experience of preparing clear needs-led reports on children and families.
Experience of service planning and evaluation
Have a working knowledge of Children First and of the Children Act 2001 (Revised March 2013).
Experience of working in an inter-agency context with a variety of statutory and voluntary agencies.
A full clean driving license and your own transport.
The successful candidate will be employed by Kildare Youth Services (KYS) for an initial 12 month fixed-term contract, including a 6 month probationary period. The project is based in Naas with a countywide remit.
