Information Officer – The Wheel – Dublin

The Wheel has recently been appointed the National Contact Point for the ‘Europe for Citizens’ programme in Ireland and is now seeking an Information Officer on a part-time fixed contract to end 2017 (22.5 hours per week).

The Europe for Citizens programme is implemented by the Executive Agency for Education, Audiovisual and Culture (EACEA) based in Brussels and the programme aims are to:

Contribute to citizens’ understanding of the EU, its history and diversity.
Foster European citizenship and improve conditions for civic and democratic participation at EU level.

The role will involve the creation of a new ‘Europe for Citizens’ information and awareness raising programme. The post-holder will inform relevant stakeholders about the Europe for Citizens Programme; facilitate the participation of programme stakeholders in applying for funding under its annual funding rounds; organise information sessions; provide advice for applicants; identify potential partners for funding applications and communicate information widely across multiple channels.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years’ experience in an information dissemination / project coordination role; excellent communication and presentation skills; and a proven track record in driving the implementation of a project plan to completion, including monitoring and reporting on outcomes. Experience with EU institutions and funding programmes would be highly desirable. The successful candidate must have high motivation, a positive disposition and a significant ability to focus consistently on targets
