BIG BROTHER BIG SISTER IRELAND (BBBS)
Foróige, the National Youth Development Organisation, which promotes and fosters youth development through the operation of various youth services in urban and rural areas throughout the country, through the Irish Youth Justice Service, Department of Justice and Equality in conjunction with An Garda Síochána and the Dormant Accounts Fund, invite applications for BBBS Programme Officers based in the following locations:
DUBLIN (2 Full Time positions available)
CORK (1 Full Time position available)
GALWAY (1 Part Time position available)
DONEGAL (1 Part Time position available)
These BBBS posts come as part of a significant investment from the Dormant Accounts Disbursement Scheme to pilot the provision of youth mentoring services for young people aged 12 to 17 involved in Garda Youth Diversion Projects (GYDPs) and JLO Services in communities across the country. These will be newly established posts in their respective regions. These posts will be part of Foróige’s BBBS Programme and will take referrals exclusively from the network of Foróige managed GYDPs or JLO Services across the country. These posts are funded by the Department of Justice and Equality as part of the European Social Fund 2014 – 2020 through the Irish Youth Justice Service, in conjunction with An Garda Síochána and will be managed by Foróige.
The successful applicant will have:
Education to National Diploma or Degree standard, preferably in Youth / Justice / Health Promotion work (candidates with exceptional, relevant work experience may also be considered in lieu of degree qualifications).
Relevant paid or voluntary experience of working with young people.
Access to car and full Irish Driving licence.
Experience and understanding of mentoring and/or GYDP work.
