Project Summary
Over the past two years, Foróige has been successfully piloting the use of virtual reality (VR) technology to engage young people in our youth work services. A growing network of staff and volunteers are utilising VR technology to connect young people to youth work, particularly marginalised young people or those experiencing rural or social isolation. VR makes it possible for these young people to
engage in youth work programmes and initiatives remotely
access support from professional youth workers and trained volunteers
meet, collaborate with and learn from like-minded peers
The project will increase our expertise in using immersive technologies with young people and develop and support the network of staff and volunteers using this technology in their youth work.
The successful applicant will have the following essential requirements;
Education to National Degree standard
A minimum of 1 years relevant work experience
Access to car and full driving licence
Significant experience and understanding of immersive technologies and their use in Youth Work
Ability to work collaboratively and strategically with a range of stakeholders
Significant experience and understanding of the design and provision of staff and volunteer training
Ability to facilitate the learning process
Excellent team working skills
Experience and understanding of training, programme and curriculum design
