Description

Duties : Undertaking microbiological testing of food, water, environmental + pharmaceutical samples in line with documented procedures, your main responsibilities will include: Undertaking day to day effective, accurate + efficient processing of workload in the micro lab + to perform tasks assigned by the Senior Lab staff. Adhering to regulations + lab policies regarding health + safety + to maintain a clean, hygienic working environment employing aseptic techniques. Handling + testing samples for various microbiological tests including pathogens according to documented procedures, including attention to sample + media,temperature control, storage +prevention of cross-contamination. Maintaining accurate + systematic records of testing. To have a sounds knowledge of relevant documents within the Quality system including SOPs, Quality Manual, + relevant methods applicable to the post. Reporting any faults to Laboratory Supervisor. Additional duties as required by the Senior Staff.

Skills Requirements

As a successful candidate you will have degree level qualification in Micro/ related subject. Knowledge/qualification with a scientific discipline + previous experience working within an accredited lab/relevant industry lab are preferred but full training will be provided. We are looking for a hardworking, professional team player with strong written + verbal communication skills. Excellent attention to detail + organisation are essential + the ability to self-motivate under your own initiative
