Lecturer Above the Bar – Biomedical Engineering – NUI Galway University

Description

The new appointee will be required to develop an outstanding research programme in Biomedical Engineering, working with colleagues across the University?s academic disciplines and research institutes. Candidates with research expertise in the areas of medical implant and device analysis and design, or cell and tissue mechanics and mechanobiology, would be particularly welcome. The new appointee will be expected to attract R&D funding in fundamental and applied research areas, and to apply for major funding awards such as the SFI Investigators Programme and the European Research Council (ERC) Grant programmes. The new appointee will be expected to disseminate their work through peer-reviewed journals, conferences and workshops.

Skills Requirements

Applicants will be expected to possess: A primary degree in biomedical engineering or a closely related engineering discipline; Normally, a PhD in biomedical engineering or a closely related discipline; Experience in course design, lecturing, laboratory supervision and project supervision; An appropriate publication record, research funding record, and the capacity to develop a world-class research programme in biomedical engineering; See Info Pack for Further Criteria Required
