Description

Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer (Above the Bar, permanent) in Translational Science at the Academic Discipline of Surgery at NUI Galway. The successful applicant will have a PhD Degree and an accomplished track record in translational research, as evidenced by a significant publication record in leading international journals and the ability to obtain competitive grant funding. He/she will be expected to support undergraduate and postgraduate education programmes within the College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, and contribute to bioresearch initiatives within NUI Galway, and with national and international collaborators.

Skills Requirements

The post-holder will develop new undergraduate modules in Translational Research, and contribute to postgraduate training through supervision of MD and PhD students. He/she will have experience in preclinical studies and dealing with regulatory bodies governing ethics in research. The appointee and will be expected to obtain competitive grant funding for research and contribute to the wider development of translational research within the college.
