Lecturer Below the Bar in Chemistry Inorganic Chemistry – NUI Galway

Applications are invited for permanent post, which is available as soon as possible.The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the design, review and delivery of the teaching programmes of the School of Chemistry to undergraduate students at NUI Galway. The candidate will deliver course work in all undergraduate years as well as contribute to postgraduate teaching. He/she will contribute to module coordination. She/he will supervise or co-supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students in research and contribute to wider activities in the School, College and University. The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of fundamental chemical principles and demonstrate that they can communicate these to students. They will build a research programme in Inorganic Chemistry.

Skills Requirements

Areas of interest are inorganic materials, catalysis, solid state chemistry, organometallic chemistry, theoretical inorganic chemistry (including metalloproteins, metallodrug-biomolecule interactions), X-ray crystallography (including biomolecular X-ray crystallography). This research programme will add to and complement the research of the School and wider University.
