Applications are invited for a fixed term appointment as Lecturer in Biomedical Engineering at NUI Galway. The appointment is available from the 1st September 2015. The new appointee will be required to contribute strongly to the teaching, undergraduate and postgraduate student supervision, and administration activities of the Discipline of Biomedical Engineering and the College. Primary teaching responsibilities may be in the areas of engineering computing, biomedical materials and medical implant and device design. He/she is also expected to initiate a new, or develop an existing, outstanding independent research programme in Biomedical Engineering, working with colleagues across the University, including the attraction of R&D funding and the dissemination of their work through peer-reviewed journals conferences and workshops.
Skills Requirements
Applicants will be expected to possess: A primary degree in biomedical engineering or a closely related engineering discipline; Normally, a PhD in biomedical engineering or a related discipline; Experience in teaching/teaching support/laboratory supervision; An appropriate publication record and the capacity to develop an world-class research programme in Biomedical Engineering; See Info Pack for Further Criteria Required
